The Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) 2023 has officially begun in Decentraland, marking the second iteration of the online event in the largest user owned and operated Metaverse platform. After a successful first launch, Decentraland will continue to bridge the gap between the Metaverse and reality with this year’s event.
But what can we expect to see for this year’s MVFW?
- New Themes: The theme is focused on future heritage, and so the main goal is for brands to focus on creating experiences that are both community-driven and deliver meaning to their audience. This provides an opportunity for brands to test out new tools that will evolve their storytelling and consumer offerings.
- Improved performance: Several attendees for last year’s MVFW reported several issues with the experience in terms of glitching and inaccessibility to the platform. As a result of this, Decentraland has invested time into resolving these concerns for this year’s MVFW in order to ensure a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
- Brands to watch out for: Adidas will be making it’s debut at the MVFW this year, having it’s own space where the brand will be selling it’s first digital clothing collection. Other brands that feature in the MVFW 2023 lineup include Coach, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger among others.
The MVFW experience is also tapping into AR, with brands like Coach launching retail spaces where visitors will be able to virtually try-on signature clothes and collect designs that were created with the startup.
